I work primarily with clients in North America. The United States, Canada, Mexico. The budgets are real, the problems are interesting, and most developers they have tried before me were, to put it politely, lanie wody. One client in particular, an American in Florida, has become something more than a client. He is one of those rare Christians who actually lives it. Not the performative kind. The real salt of the earth kind. He reminds me, when I want to see proof before I build something: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” I chose to work with him because he is not full of it. That is rarer than you think.

The figure I keep returning to is Jesus of Nazareth. He said those who humble themselves will be exalted. Every business I have watched succeed was built on service. Going further, every one I have watched collapse was built on motherfuckery. Other traditions captured pieces of this. Only one place holds the whole cloth. Demonstrable, internally consistent, practically applicable. Stoics got fragments. Buddhism got fragments. Psychology rediscovers them as breakthroughs. I have not made a confession of faith. I am still looking. Regardless, the evidence is overwhelming, and I do not look away from evidence.
